More than 5,000 documents have been leaked online purporting to be the correspondence of climate scientists at the University of East Anglia who were previously accused of ‘massaging’ evidence of man-made climate change.

Following on from the original ‘climategate’ emails of 2009, the new package appears to show systematic suppression of evidence, and even publication of reports that scientists knew to to be based on flawed approaches.

And not only do the emails paint a picture of scientists manipulating data, government employees at the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) are also implicated.

One message appeared to show a member of Defra staff telling colleagues working on climate science to give the government a ‘strong message’.

The emails paint a clear picture of scientists selectively using data, and colluding with politicians to misuse scientific information.

‘Humphrey’, said to work at Defra, writes: ‘I cannot overstate the HUGE amount of political interest in the project as a message that the government can give on climate change to help them tell their story.

‘They want their story to be a very strong one and don’t want to be made to look foolish.’

Professor Phil Jones, director of the Climatic Research Unit at the centre of the affair, said the group findings did stand up to scrutiny.

Yet one of the newly released emails, written by Prof. Jones  – who is working with the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) – said: ‘Any work we have done in the past is done on the back of the research grants we get – and has to be well hidden.

‘I’ve discussed this with the main funder (U.S. Dept of Energy) in the past and they are happy about not releasing the original station data.’

In another of his emails, he wrote: ‘I’ve been told that Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is above national Freedom of Information Acts.

‘One way to cover yourself and all those working in AR5 would be to delete all emails at the end of the process.’

Other scientists are clearly against such a policy, but some seemed happy to collude with concealing and destroying evidence.

One nervous scientist wrote: ‘The figure you sent is very deceptive.’

‘I also think the science is being manipulated to put a political spin on it which for all our sakes might not be too clever in the long run,’ wrote another.

The lead author of one of the reports, Jonathan Overpeck, wrote, ‘The trick may be to decide on the main message and use that to guide what’s included and what is left out.’

A weak performance by Environment Secretary Chris Huhne on Question Time has helped to inflame the row over the second leak of private  UEA emails  – now described as Climategate 2.0.

Former Chancellor Nigel Lawson’s Global Warming Policy Foundation warned against ignoring ‘shortcomings’ in a letter strongly critical of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

It said: ‘The BBC, in determining its policy towards the coverage of global warming, which is of course not simply a scientific issue but an economic and a political issue, too, ought to shred that section of the Jones review and revert to the impartiality laid down in its charter.’

He was also strongly critical of sections of the media who lent support to the scientists.

Andrew Orlwowski, UK science site The Register’s science correspondent comments on one email that says, ‘What if climate change turns out to be a natural fluctuation? They’ll kill us all’

‘The stink of intellectual corruption is overpowering.’

Orlowski says, ‘That won’t be necessary.’

Clive Crook, a commentator for the Atlantic, who described the earlier inquiries into the Climategate emails as ‘ineffectual’ and ‘mealy mouthed’, reportedly said, ‘The closed-mindedness of these supposed men of science, their willingness to go to any lengths to defend a preconceived message, is surprising even to me.

‘The stink of intellectual corruption is overpowering.’

There is other correspondence from scientists such as Prof Michael Mann, director of the Earth System Science Centre at Penn State University, some of which have a distinct feel of PR ‘spin’.

The release of the information echoes the ‘Climategate’ leaks of hacked private emails two years ago ahead of crunch climate talks in Copenhagen that referred to ways to ‘hide the decline’ in global warming.

A series of independent reviews cleared the East Anglia researchers of impropriety, but they were told they had been too secretive.

Today’s leak may also be timed to disrupt the next session of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change next week in South Africa.

The new email leak is accompanied by a text file which appears to protest against the huge expense of anti-warming technologies - highlighting deaths from poverty against the $36 billion expense of 'green' energy

The new email leak is accompanied by a text file which appears to protest against the huge expense of anti-warming technologies – highlighting deaths from poverty against the $36 billion expense of ‘green’ energy.

The emails have been released in the form of quotes carefully ‘chosen’ to show bias, or that scientists were pursuing a particular agenda in their research.

The unnamed individuals who released them chose the 5,000 emails from keyword searches, saying, ‘We could not read every one, but tried to cover the most relevant topics.’

The emails were posted on a Russian server – Sinwt.ru – as a downloadable ZIP file in an apparent attempt to cause disruption in advance of next week’s climate change conference in Durban.

They were rapidly reposted on climate-sceptic blogs such as The Air Vent.

It is not clear, though, whether they are new, or indeed whether they indicate any kind of conspiracy.

The release of the data was accompanied by a ‘press release’ in the form of a readme file, which said, ‘Over 2.5 billion people live on less than $2 a day.’

‘Poverty is a death sentence. Nations must invest $37 trillion in energy technologies by 2030 to stabilise greenhouse gas emissions at sustainable levels.’

‘Today’s decisions should be based on all the information we can get, not on hiding the decline,’ said the file.

The identity of the people who posted it was not revealed – although the clear political statement is new.

The file also contains more than 200,000 other emails, which are encrypted, and no password is provided.

Presumably, this is to protect the individuals involved – or simply because the material is so non-controversial or boring that it’s not worth releasing.

NASA thermal satellite image showing the world’s arctic surface temperature trends: Today’s emails appear to show scientists interested in painting a particular picture of such trends – but the information is not new.

The University of East Anglia has not confirmed whether the material is genuine.

None of the material appears to be new, either: it seems to date from the first release in 2009.

It also occurs against a rather different scientific background, after  the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature review of climate-science data by prominent climate sceptic Richard Muller, which analysed 1.6 billion temperature records, and concluded that global warming was a genuine effect.

It is still unclear what effect – or combination of effects – is causing the current warming of the atmosphere, which has risen around one temperature in the past 50 years.

Professor Mann, speaking to the Guardian, described the release as ‘truly pathetic.’

‘Well, they look like mine but I hardly see anything that appears damning at all, despite them having been taken out of context.

‘I guess they had very little left to work with, having culled in the first round the emails that could most easily be taken out of context to try to make me look bad.’

A police investigation is ongoing.

  • Our most detailed space searches cannot see objects less than 33 feet wide
  • Alien artifacts may also be hidden in our oceans or dense forests
  • Study suggests other civilisations may not have noticed us yet either

The White House this week issued a statement saying there was no existing evidence that aliens had attempted to contact earth – or in fact that they even existed.

But how can the Obama administration be so sure?

The question is being asked by scientists, who say that we have not looked closely enough at outer space – and that there might be large alien greetings signs within the solar system that we simply are missing.

And they add that our deep-space probes – Nasa’s Pioneer and Voyager craft – may be equally too small for extraterrestrial civilisations to notice.

Probing the neighbours: The twin Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 probes, launched in the Seventies, carry detailed information about Earth and humanity, just in case they are recovered by alien explorers Probing the neighbours: The twin Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 probes, launched in the Seventies, carry detailed information about Earth and humanity, just in case they are recovered by alien explorers

The White House was responding to an inquiry as part of the ‘We The People’ project, which allows members of the public to submit petitions requesting government action.

One petition asked for a formal acknowledgment of ‘an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race’.

Phil Larson, who works on policy and communications for the White House’s Office of Science & Technology Policy, replied: ‘The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race.’

But two researchers at Penn State university beg to differ, and their paper on the subject has been accepted by Acta Astronautica and posted online on ArXiv.

Sounds Of Earth
Sounds Of Earth

The Sounds Of Earth: The ‘Golden Records’ accompanying the Voyager probes have recordings and detailed binary information about the solar system (hopefully, alien civilisations have not yet invented CDs)

Jacob Haqq-Misra, of Rock Ethics Institute, and Ravi Kumar Kopparapu, of the Earth and Environmental Systems Institute, say alien spacecraft or probes the size of a racing yacht could be floating around our solar system, and we’re blissfully unaware.

They write: ‘The vastness of space, combined with our limited searches to date, implies that any remote unpiloted exploratory probes of extraterrestrial origin would likely remain unnoticed.

‘Extraterrestrial artifacts may exist in the solar system without our knowledge, simply because we have not yet searched sufficiently. Few if any of the attempts would be capable of detecting a one- to ten-metre probe.’

Too small: Despite the detail, extraterrestrials with similar technology to ours would not be able to detect the craft carrying the Golden Record, let alone the disc itselfToo small: Despite the detail, extraterrestrials with similar technology to ours would not be able to detect the craft carrying the Golden Record, let alone the disc itself

This measurement, which correlates to between three and 33 feet, is a large enough hole to fly an alien probe through – and certainly bigger than anything we’ve sent out into space in a bid to attract extraterrestrial attention.

The Pioneer and Voyager probes sent out by Nasa in the Sixties and Seventies were all smaller than the paper’s window for error.

The Pioneer probes had plaques depicting a man and a woman, while the Voyager probes carried ‘Golden Records’ that included binary information and photographs.

‘Searches to date of the solar system are sufficiently incomplete that we cannot rule out the possibility that non-terrestrial artifacts are present and may even be observing us’

Similar-sized alien plaques and records in space would by invisible to us here on Earth.

the researchers go even further, saying that the equivalent of an alien calling card might even be hiding here on Earth.

They write: ‘The surface of the Earth is one of the few places in the solar system that has been almost completely examined at a spatial resolution of less than three feet.’

Yet they point to the ocean floor, dense jungles or deep cave as potential hiding places.

And even in the high-tech 21st century, new species, submarine features and entire rainforest civilisations are being discovered for the first time.

There’s even a chance that the probe would just look like a rock.

The researchers conclude: ‘Searches to date of the solar system are sufficiently incomplete that we cannot rule out the possibility that non-terrestrial artifacts are present and may even be observing us.

‘The completeness of our search for non-terrestrial objects will inevitably increase as we continue to explore the moon, Mars and other nearby regions of space.’

Ecstasy could be used to cure cancer after scientists modified the drug to increase its tumour-killing properties.

Researchers from Birmingham University claimed the designer drug, also known as MDMA, could be used to treat leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma after making it 100 times more effective at suppressing growth.

Ecstasy was already known to be effective against more than half of white blood cell cancers, but previously the large dose required to treat a tumour would also have killed the patient.

In a study published in the Investigational New Drugs journal, the scientists said the new drug could be used by doctors to treat cancer if it can be produced in a safe form.

Lead author Professor John Gordon said: “This is an exciting next step towards using a modified form of MDMA to help people suffering from blood cancer.

“While we would not wish to give people false hope, the results of this research hold the potential for improvement in treatments in years to come.”

“Although survival rates for leukaemia have improved over the past thirty years new approaches to treatment are still needed to tackle this disease even more effectively.”

At this rate they’re about to start taking people round to the empty fields to blow their brains out, in the name of ‘global warming’ or some other ‘pseudo-science’)

Rising greenhouse emissions could tip off aliens that we are a rapidly expanding threat, warns a report

It may not rank as the most compelling reason to curb greenhouse gases, but reducing our emissions might just save humanity from a pre-emptive alien attack, scientists claim.

Watching from afar, extraterrestrial beings might view changes in Earth’s atmosphere as symptomatic of a civilisation growing out of control – and take drastic action to keep us from becoming a more serious threat, the researchers explain.

This highly speculative scenario is one of several described by a Nasa-affiliated scientist and colleagues at Pennsylvania State University that, while considered unlikely, they say could play out were humans and alien life to make contact at some point in the future.

Shawn Domagal-Goldman of Nasa’s Planetary Science Division and his colleagues compiled a list of plausible outcomes that could unfold in the aftermath of a close encounter, to help humanity “prepare for actual contact“.

In their report, Would Contact with Extraterrestrials Benefit or Harm Humanity? A Scenario Analysis, the researchers divide alien contacts into three broad categories: beneficial, neutral or harmful.

Beneficial encounters ranged from the mere detection of extraterrestrial intelligence (ETI), for example through the interception of alien broadcasts, to contact with cooperative organisms that help us advance our knowledge and solve global problems such as hunger, poverty and disease.

Another beneficial outcome the authors entertain sees humanity triumph over a more powerful alien aggressor, or even being saved by a second group of ETs. “In these scenarios, humanity benefits not only from the major moral victory of having defeated a daunting rival, but also from the opportunity to reverse-engineer ETI technology,” the authors write.

Other kinds of close encounter may be less rewarding and leave much of human society feeling indifferent towards alien life. The extraterrestrials may be too different from us to communicate with usefully. They might invite humanity to join the “Galactic Club” only for the entry requirements to be too bureaucratic and tedious for humans to bother with. They could even become a nuisance, like the stranded, prawn-like creatures that are kept in a refugee camp in the 2009 South African movie, District 9, the report explains.

The most unappealing outcomes would arise if extraterrestrials caused harm to humanity, even if by accident. While aliens may arrive to eat, enslave or attack us, the report adds that people might also suffer from being physically crushed or by contracting diseases carried by the visitors. In especially unfortunate incidents, humanity could be wiped out when a more advanced civilisation accidentally unleashes an unfriendly artificial intelligence, or performs a catastrophic physics experiment that renders a portion of the galaxy uninhabitable.

To bolster humanity’s chances of survival, the researchers call for caution in sending signals into space, and in particular warn against broadcasting information about our biological make-up, which could be used to manufacture weapons that target humans. Instead, any contact with ETs should be limited to mathematical discourse “until we have a better idea of the type of ETI we are dealing with.”

The authors warn that extraterrestrials may be wary of civilisations that expand very rapidly, as these may be prone to destroy other life as they grow, just as humans have pushed species to extinction on Earth. In the most extreme scenario, aliens might choose to destroy humanity to protect other civilisations.

“A preemptive strike would be particularly likely in the early phases of our expansion because a civilisation may become increasingly difficult to destroy as it continues to expand. Humanity may just now be entering the period in which its rapid civilisational expansion could be detected by an ETI because our expansion is changing the composition of the Earth’s atmosphere, via greenhouse gas emissions,” the report states.

“Green” aliens might object to the environmental damage humans have caused on Earth and wipe us out to save the planet. “These scenarios give us reason to limit our growth and reduce our impact on global ecosystems. It would be particularly important for us to limit our emissions of greenhouse gases, since atmospheric composition can be observed from other planets,” the authors write.

Even if we never make contact with extraterrestrials, the report argues that considering the potential scenarios may help to plot the future path of human civilisation, avoid collapse and achieve long-term survival.

(Author’s Note: Here is another classic example of pre-programming for the ‘Alien Agenda’.  You have to love the way they bring into play the ‘failed’ global warming scam, as if we still believe this is man-made!!  And please, if you still do, look into the heating up of the ‘other’ planets in our solar system, and look into the sun’s solar maximum cycles.

Remember, a ‘united’ one world government for complete power and control is their endgame.  What did President Reagan hint at often to the UN?)

Darkest exoplanet spotted by astronomers

A dark alien world, blacker than coal, has been spotted by astronomers.

The Jupiter-sized planet is orbiting its star at a distance of just five million km, and is likely to be at a temperature of some 1200C.

The planet may be too hot to support reflective clouds like those we see in our own Solar System, but even that would not explain why it is so dark.

The research will be published in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

The planet, called TrES-2b, is so named because it was first spotted by the Trans-Atlantic Exoplanet Survey in 2006. It is about 750 light-years away, in the Draco constellation.

It also lies in the field of view of the Kepler space telescope, whose primary mission is to spot exoplanets using extremely sensitive brightness measurements as far-flung worlds pass in front of their host stars.

Using the first four months’ worth of data from Kepler, David Kipping of the Center for Astrophysics at Harvard University and David Spiegel from Princeton University, looked at the amount of light coming directly from TrES-2b itself.

They measured the amount of light coming from the planet’s “night side” – when it is directly in front of its star. They compared that to the light coming from its “day side”, just before it passes behind its star and Kepler sees it bathed in light.

The difference between the two gives a measure of how much light the planet reflects – or its albedo.

In our Solar System, clouds on Jupiter give it an albedo of 52%; Earth’s is about 37%. But it appears that TrES-2b reflects less than 1% of its star’s light.

“This albedo is darker than that of black acrylic paint or coal – it’s weird,” Dr Kipping told BBC News.

‘Exotic chemistry’

The explanation may simply be that the planet is too hot to support the reflective cloud cover we see in our own Solar System.

However, both Dr Kipping and Dr Spiegel said even that would not explain why TrES-2b is such a dark world. It is not just that the planet is failing to reflect light; something must be absorbing it.

THE KEPLER SPACE TELESCOPE

Infographic (BBC)

  • Stares fixedly at a patch corresponding to 1/400th of the sky
  • Looks at more than 150,000 stars
  • In just four months of observations has found 1,235 candidate planets
  • Among them, it has spotted the first definitively rocky exoplanet
  • It has found 68 Earth-sized planets, five of which are in the “habitable zone”

“Chemicals such as gaseous sodium and titanium oxide have been proposed to have this effect,” Dr Kipping told BBC News. “Whilst it is possible that there is a huge overabundance of these chemicals, it is probably more likely that there is some exotic chemistry going on which we have never seen before.”

Jonathan Fortney, an exoplanetary scientist at the University of California, Santa Cruz, called the work “a nice paper” because “Kepler is allowing us to see these tiny signals from ‘hot Jupiters'”.

A large fraction of the planets that have been identified in other solar systems are these “hot Jupiters”, but little is yet known about them other than their size and proximity to their host stars.

“What will be very interesting is the detection of hot Jupiter reflectivities for different planetary temperature and surface gravities, because that will tell us what planets can keep clouds suspended and what the cloud material might be,” Dr Fortney told BBC News.

Much more of the story will be laid bare when more data from the Kepler telescope is put to the test, and when more is released, said Dave Latham, a co-investigator on the Kepler project.

“There are much better data now, from more than two years on orbit, but not yet released to the public,” Dr Latham told BBC News.

“A batch of new and higher-quality data is scheduled for release on 22 September. That should allow an improved detection of the (reflectivity of) TrES-2.”

Plan is similar to the plot of Hollywood film Armageddon

Scientists plan to smash a spacecraft into an asteroid so that they are prepared for having to stop one hurtling towards Earth.

The news came as Nasa moved to calm fears that a comet is on a collision course with our planet.

The plans for a test mission to stop an asteroid from colliding with Earth come from Nasa’s cousin, the European Space Agency.

Rescue plan: The European Space Agency is planning mission Don Quijote - to blow up a huge asteroid that could potentially be hurtling towards EarthRescue plan: The European Space Agency is planning mission Don Quijote – to blow up a huge asteroid that could potentially be hurtling towards Earth

In the Hollywood movie Armageddon, Bruce Willis attempts to blow up a huge asteroid hurtling towards Earth.

In real life, the mission, called Don Quixote, will see two spacecraft launched.

One will be fired at an asteroid  at break-neck speed in an attempt to push it off its course. The other will analyse data with the aim  of informing future missions in which the future of mankind may be at stake.

One potential target for the test mission is a 1,600ft-wide asteroid called 99942 Apophis, which has a tiny chance – around one in 250,000 – of hitting Earth in 2036.

Nasa scientists yesterday took the unusual step of officially dismissing claims sweeping the internet that comet Elenin, discovered by an astronomer last December, is on a deadly course.

Brucey bonus: Armageddon starred Bruce Willis as the leader of a team of astronauts who destroy an asteroid that threatens to wipe out EarthBrucey bonus: Armageddon starred Bruce Willis as the leader of a team of astronauts who destroy an asteroid that threatens to wipe out Earth

Scare stories include the comet plunging the Earth into darkness for three days by blocking out the sun, colliding with Earth, moving tides or continents and throwing the planet off orbit.

It is even claimed that a fleet of UFOs are streaking towards us in the comet’s wake, and that Nasa has conspired with media organisations to create a news blackout on the comet to avoid mass panic sweeping the world.

But the space agency said  Elenin will never come closer to Earth than 22million miles and will not compromise our planet in  any way.

An official said: ‘The truth is that Elenin has received much more attention than it deserves due to  a variety of internet postings  that are untrue.’

Dr. Carol Rosin a former NASA scientist turned Disclosure Project witness shares very important information with us. Keep in mind this was back in 2001 before 9/11 back when it was only Oklahoma city and the ’93 WTC bombing and they realized they were going to need something bigger.

Dr. Carol Rosin worked directly under Verner Von Braun, the NAZI V2 Rocket Scientist from Operation Paperclip. That’s a pretty solid inside connection to a very serious source. I don’t think she is making this up at all.

Here we have inside people saying it, and I have been seeing a lot of signs that they are psychologically preparing the public for an orchestrated  “war of the worlds” inspired “disclosure”. If I didn’t see a real need to share this kind of information I wouldn’t bother, but I personally feel this is a very important issue for everyone in the UFO / Alien / Disclosure community, and all of humanity.
